Walking to a NEW CRIB...

The Harless Family has been M.I.A (Missing in Action) lately... I would like to apologize for leaving everyone hanging from the last post. As for the exciting news... NO I am not pregnant. (that would be SHOCKING news!) We have recently bought a new home and will move in on Monday. Now you can see why I haven't updated! Our home is in boxes and we are staying with Janey (MIL) until Monday. As I think of leaving our home and moving into a bigger place to facilitate our growing family I get a little emotional. This may be a shock to some of you who know that I am NOT super sentimental. I think back to April of 2006 when Wesley took me to 1064 Dunnavant Place and told me this would be our new home. WOW what a day... our very own home! Our first home as Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Bernard Harless. I bounced from room to room admiring each piece of wood, fixture, and cabinet. Imagining all of the delicious meals (I would have to learn to make) in its beautiful kitchen, wondering if Shug would like the nice open back yard, and most of all trying to find a money tree to decorate this little piece of heaven. Then we brought our sweet little preemie home from the NICU to his bassinet beside our bed where he flourished each day in this house we made our home. So many Game Day barbecues with friends, Grey's Anatomy girls nights, Family gatherings, and much more make our home so special. I guess it is another chapter in life that you hold close to your heart and never forget. I wonder if I will ever take York by his first home and tell him all about his first year there. Will I drive by to see if the new family cut down the trees or shrubs that I worked my fingers to the bone planting? Will they hang a wreath on the door or put a flower in the doorway? Will the new owners love our home like we did? I sure hope so! We are so incredibly blessed... God is So So Very GOOD! More pictures and commentary on the move coming next week... Below are some pictures via CELL PHONE of Mr. York and what he has been up to in the midst of all of our craziness! We are WALKING... and with WALKING comes BRUISES !! Big nasty, purple, yucky bruises!! My sweet perfect little man looks like an ultimate fighter! Good News...they have begun to fade. Unfortunately this is the first of many... I hear!
My little hooded monkey!
Sweet Baby sleeping while momma runs in the cold!
Peaking out from his monkey highchair at Ya-Ya's!
(PS... special THANK YOU to Ya-Ya for putting up with us these last couple of days before the move... you have been GREAT!)

This is a picture of our new house! I wanted to get the SOLD sign in the picture... will post better ones later.

Hope everyone has a fantastic Thanksgiving holiday and can relax and enjoy the company of their loved ones and indulge in some tasty treats!

Love you all, Evan and York

Trick-OR-Treat 2009

Look NO hands!
Cruising to the door to give out candy...
Why do you dress me up, Mom?
York the Giraffe
Daddy was too tired to Trick or Treat!
Long night..

As you can see we had a fantastic Halloween! York tolerated his costume and enjoyed seeing all of the children come to the door. My favorite costume of the night was a 5 year old Dog the Bounty Hunter... mullet, chains, and all! (HILARIOUS!) Second place would have to go to the 8 year old Domino's Pizza boy... he used his pizza box to hold his candy! (mighty CREATIVE) This week York has been taking 4 and 5 steps on his own. It is absolutely amazing and so exciting! Mom came to watch York this week so I could go and help at the Drug Store. It was really nice having mom keep York all day and come home to washed clothes and hot delicious dinner! **Thanks so much mom... your a lifesaver!** We are so very blessed. Other news: York has 7 1/2 teeth... and these last couple of "teethies" have been tough on the little man. He is feeling much better now, but it was a rough few days. He is back to his normal sweet happy baby! I can not post without giving a big shout out to the A-U-B-U-R-N tigers! WAR EAGLE! What an exciting game... I am so proud of our tigers! We will be heading to the plains tomorrow to celebrate Homecoming!

More pix to come!

Happy Halloween...

York's outfit says "I LOVE MY MUMMY!"
(compliments of Ya-Ya)

UPDATES...

Janey (Ya-Ya) is recovering wonderfully thanks to your prayers. She is 2 weeks out of surgery and getting around great. She is most frustrated because she is still unable to pick up York. I will also say that "I MISS YA-YA THE MOST!" I took for granted that I could drop York off most anytime and go to the grocery store, doctors appointments, or run errands. (child-FREE) He is not difficult to take places but things like getting my nails done, hair cuts, or exercise is INCREDIBLY hard to do with child in tow! It is also a "mini-vacation" to be out and about alone! (all of you mommies understand that... I'm sure!) Don't get me wrong, each moment with that little guy is wonderful but an hour away makes me a much more appreciative and patient mom! So... Ya-Ya I appreciate you MORE than ever! We hope that you continue to heal and recover FAST! Love you lots!

Other NEWS... York has gotten his first pair of big boy shoes! They are brown leather Stride Rite's and are adorable. I will post pictures soon... he looks so grown up with them on! Where does the time go? He will be a giraffe for Halloween and his costume is really precious. We are headed to Montgomery tomorrow to visit with Mae-Mae and Rae-Rae. We are hoping to go to the Auburn game with our little animal on Saturday. War EAGLE! (let's hope the team that played the first couple of games will show up!) Many more pics to come!

Have a Happy Halloween!

10 months and counting

Happy 10 Months little Man!

Kisses from Cousin Caroline!
Visiting with the Watson's (Caroline and Aunt B)
Mae-Mae's so funny...
Stare down
Cheesin' for the camera!
(the 2 biggest HAMS in the world)
At sissy's house... playing with her spider!
We all have bad hair days!
Thank goodness we don't have DOUBLE trouble!

Here are some pix from this past weekend. We visited our family in Montgomery and were able to make all of the rounds! ((2 sets of great grandparents, grandmother, grandfather, step grandfather, aunt, uncle, cousins, and friends)) My dad gave York his first sucker and sips of diet dr. pepper. I was less than thrilled ... but I guess that is what grandparents are for. York was able to visit with Mae-Mae while we went to Auburn. I am still thawing out from that football game! We enjoyed our extended weekend but are glad to be home and back in the swing of things.

Race for the Cure!

This is York's crazy face... we love it!
We celebrated Mae-Mae's (my mother's) birthday this past weekend!
Mom, York, and Sissy (Ashton)I did the Race for the Cure 5K on Saturday.
(this is my post race pic)
Yes... I was #11,817 -there were a couple of runners! We were trying to get a pic of my back so you can see who I ran for...
Here is a better view...
I ran in Celebration of 2 of my grandmothers who have been cancer free for over a year now!

We had a fantastic but busy weekend! I was so honored to run for such an amazing cause.. and one that means so much to me personally! We ran a 5k (for you non-runners that is 3.1 miles) and it rained the entire race! If you are wondering what is on my head... it is a pink scarf given out by Ford (Fordcares.com) in support of their campaign Warriors in Pink! They are 'warrior bandannas' that have several symbols that represent the different reasons we choose to run. It was amazing to see thousands uniting together. It was a sea of pink!

We also celebrated my mothers BIRTHDAY on Sunday night. My sissy and mom came up on Saturday and spent the weekend with us... we had such a great time. (It reminds me of how much I miss them!) On Sunday night, we took my mom to P.F. Changs where my step dad, brother, and his girlfriend surprised mom for dinner! We had a wonderful time and Rafe (step dad) even brought my moms favorite strawberry cake from Nancy Patterson's in Montgomery to the party! *He is so thoughtful!* So Happy Birthday Mae-Mae... hope it was fabulous! Stay tuned for new pics of this coming weekends Auburn game and visit to Montgomery!

**PRAYER REQUEST -My mother in law (Janey) is going to have back surgery on Thursday. Please pray she has a successful surgery and speedy recovery! I will keep you posted.

So this is our morning in a nutshell! Of course I captured it all on film! Yes I am obsessed! Is there rehab for obsessive paparazzi mommies? Admit me... Nonetheless, each morning with this angel is an exciting adventure. He has such a great personality and is full of surprises. Until now I have wondered if he inherited any of my traits... Wonder NO more! York Harless has displayed the beginnings of the "Evan Tantrum"! Full on back arching, stiff as a board, mouth open to full capacity yelling -temper tantrums! I am sure my mother is laughing while reading this! She said I was a holy terror! (anyone reading this know that is just hard to believe! j/k) So while I have experienced 9 months of pure baby bliss.. Mom has secretly wished that York would give me a little tantrum here and there! Well the time is NOW! I hope to catch on of these award winning tantrums on tape... it is worth seeing! I didn't think that it would be possible to rival my drama but York is giving me a run for the money. Good thing he does respond to the word "No" and the drama only last for 5 or 10 seconds! York has a friend that is 12 days older than him and is displaying the same type of behavior at times...Must be the age! We are trying to introduce the idea of sharing to the boys and this has introduced the idea of tantrums to the mommies! York really doesn't have a good role model for sharing because his daddy is an only child and still doesn't really understand the concept! Good News...We are working on this as a family! Below is a picture that takes up residence on our entry table! LOVE IT! (this is a picture of a picture -not great quality)
Everyone have a great weekend and War EAGLE!
