"3 Months"

Happy 3 Months... Sweet Perry!
My tiny baby is 12 weeks old today! I felt that time "flew" when York was an infant... add toddler to the equation and life is in fast forward. These have been the most challenging, most rewarding, most incredible 12 weeks of my entire life. Life as 4 has taken some time to get used to but has been a total blessing. Two little guys wanting Mommy's attention 24/7 and a husband that would like 5 minutes of attention has been quite the balancing act! The sleepless nights, hormonal cries, and stressful situations...all seem worth it when York leans over to kiss Perry's head, P looks up with an adorable smile, or I hear York tell P that he loves him from the other room. Moments like those melt my heart and make me wish I could freeze time. Perry is smiling and cooing and loves to be held. He is doing well with head control and absolutely despises tummy time. He already adores his brother and watches him most of the time. Perry is pretty easy going unless he is tired... he fights sleep worse than I have ever seen. He has been sleeping through the night since 8 weeks or so and I could watch him sleep all day. He has the cutest expressions while dreaming. He is absolutely adorable if I do say so myself!! I catch myself staring at him throughout the day thanking God for this precious time. They really do grow up entirely too fast and if you blink you might just miss something! So that's the skinny on Perry D.
More to come...

Jabber Jaws

Not shocking .. I know! Wes and I both LOVE to talk so why wouldn't our offspring follow suit? York is talking alot these days and I have been meaning to "record" some of the funny stuff. He loves to sing and does so in the car, in the stroller, or at night time. Sometimes you can't understand the song but you will see "itsy bitsy" spider motions or "bunny foo foo" ears. Hehe! (one of my favorites!) As with ALL 2 year olds the dominate word in our home is MINE! Followed closely by NO! My dad liked to call me "jabber jaws" or "mouth of the south"! I will happily pass these sweet nicknames down to Mr. York! From now on the JABBER JAW posts will refer to my little mouth of the south.
This week in Jabber Jaw news:
  • Wes was snoring this AM and York (in our bed of course) looked over and said, "Stop dis Daddy, Stop dis Daddy! ahh" as he swatted his face!
  • We have been working on manners and we tell York to say Yes or No sir/mam. Well he hasn't grasped the gender part... so his response is always Yes sir or No sir!! Sorry ladies!
  • Today he fell going to get the mail and scraped up his little legs and looked up and said, Mommy kiss um, make feel bedda!"
  • Every morning when Perry wakes up York will look over and say, "Mornin Brada!"
  • "Luv ya P-dawg"
  • "Mommy lets go out der" -talking about outside
  • "Noooo SHUG Bad.. time out!" OR "Nooo Daddy.. time out!"
  • "Shug outside.. Go Go GOOOOO! 'mon Shug!"
  • "Mom, I workin" "hang on"
  • "My York Haryess"
  • When he wants another snack, "mom jus one more" holding 1 finger up! (gets me every time!)
  • "Shun-glasses mom... too bright!" as we went out to the swing set! (DIVA)
  • saying Prayers last night... "AMING"

These are just a few from this week... he is Mr. Independent and is growing up before our eyes! He is such a joy (even during the terrible 2 moments) As for Sweet P he is fighting a nasty cold that big brother passed down! We are doing breathing treatments every 4 hours, along with infant Tylenol for fever, and feeding a couple of ounces every so often. He has sick eyes and it just breaks my heart! Pray for a quick recovery for little man!

In other news... I accepted a part-time position with Extreme Fit Boot Camps!!! Thanks to my friend Kelly who "hooked" us up! She has been doing these Boot Camps for several months and is loving the results! I expressed some interest in helping if they needed anyone and if you know Kelly (Johnny on the spot!-Crazy networker!) she had me a job within 24 hours of my offer! I am happy to announce that I am Extreme Fits newest personal trainer on Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays in Mtn. Brook at 5:30 am!!! Woo HOO! If any of you are wanting a beach bod by spring ... give me call or go to www.extremefit.com and sign up under my class!

Boys will be Boys

We have 2 sick babies on Snowshill Drive! It is horrible... York has been unable to shake his cold for several weeks. Saturday his annoying cold switched gears from irritating cough to barking cough, running nose, and high fever! I'm pretty sure he is swapping germs with the MDO children because someone is home sick from his class every other day! Well the Harless Household has been out all week! Now sweet P has the beginnings of a nasty cough and I'm praying he doesn't get a fever. We took both boys to the doctor on Monday and they tested negative for flu and strep and the doc said it is mostly likely viral... After 3 days of running fever, a million used Kleenex, raw noses, empty Pedialite bottles, and numerous cough/fever medicine "shots"... I think we see light at the end of the tunnel! My biggest concern is York's new found OBSESSION with medicine. He will cough and look at me and say "Mommy, CHOKE! Need med-cine please". He absolutely loves the taste of it and enjoys drinking it from the "lil cup" (as he calls it). As soon as he downs the liquid he looks at me and says "Rinse out!". He knows the drill all too well. It makes this Momma a little worried about his love of drugs! ahh!
Although I dont mind nursing two sweet boys all day and ALL NIGHT... the Cabin Fever that I have caught is making me a bit crazy!! Not to mention I had a slammed week before the "sickness" came to visit us.
This was the weeks line up:
  • York was supposed to start swim lessons on Monday (Mon & Wed)
  • MDO Tuesday and Friday
  • Monday meeting with nurse practitioner at Drug Store (for charity)
  • Pick up several bags of clothes from 2 locations on Tuesday (for charity)
  • Wednesday meeting with Social Worker at UAB (for charity)
  • Thursday meeting with Aquatics Director at Y for silent auction benefiting YMCA
  • Friday meeting w/ Executive Director at YMCA (assisting them with Strong Kids)
  • Friday night dinner at Bottega w/ friends before Brad Paisley concert
  • ((not to mention the regular: eating dinner with friends, exercise, grocery shopping, etc))

Since all of that was a wash ... here is how the week has panned out so far:

  • Monday -York ran HIGH fever all am (doctor most of the afternoon)
  • Monday night up every other hour with boys bc of fever and P-eating
  • Tuesday sick boys napping and crying most of the day
  • Tuesday night -repeat Monday night
  • Wednesday -fever only in am, York had his first bite of food in 3 days (gold fish), York took a 4 hour nap in the afternoon!
  • Thursday -so far a much better day, York ate all of his waffle, played in playroom for several hours, is napping right this minute!! YAY!

I can't complain because both boys are still smiling and laughing and making my every minute so much fun (except for that minute this am when I was changing Perry's clothes and York decided to dump all of the water out of the tub into my bathroom floor!) That wasn't such a joyous moment! hehe! Looking back... it really wasn't that big of a deal and I come to the conclusion that boys will be boys!

Other News: We have completed the upstairs playroom and are enjoying it so much! I'm ecstatic that all of their toys are in 1 area and not in my den, kitchen, bedroom, etc!!! Wes did a wonderful job of creating the perfect space -even though he didn't LOVE my wall color choices. ((pictures to come)) Our Charity is taking off nicely! We have joined teams with a social worker at UAB that will be assisting our efforts in finding families with genuine needs to benefit from our goods and services. I've also been asked to speak at a Church event in April to a group of ladies who make donations annually to different charities. I'm so blessed they chose us.. thanks Momma Jo! God is doing BIG things and I am so excited. Picture post coming soon!
