Winner Winner... chicken dinner!

York recently won a "Cutest Baby Contest" from Meredith Sellars Photography!! We were thrilled to learn he won by most votes! He beat out the competition by 25 votes! W.O.W Thanks friends and family who voted. He won a free photo shoot and here is one that she sent me this morning! He was such a trooper... we did the shoot last Saturday at 9AM with the heat index reaching 99 at that point! It was a sweaty day at the Shakespeare Festival! This was taken towards the end of the hour... I think its Picture Perfect! ENJOY!

Perry Update:
We had an appointment this morning with Dr. H and listened to the heartbeat... AMAZING! Little guy is doing great and he is measuring right on track -end of November! I have been having a little reaction to my weekly shots but she says it is nothing to worry about and the benefits definitely outweigh the irritation. I am inching closer to 23 weeks and I cant believe we are so far! I feel this pregnancy is going pretty quickly considering I live at the hospital! We scheduled our weekly shots and my sugar test for the end of August. Perry's nursery is complete and we are putting finishing touches on York's big boy room! His bed came in yesterday and everything is coming together nicely! I know I sound obsessive compulsive about having the boys rooms done so early but I did not want to have to waddle up and down the stairs in a couple of weeks. I will post pictures soon!
Happy Wednesday Everyone!

She thinks my tractor's sexy...

A couple of weeks ago Wesley rented a "tractor" to mow the common areas around our neighborhood. York was in amazement as soon as the machine was delivered! Each time we walked by the front windows he would yell "Trac-Tor!" So one afternoon Wes indulged him and let me explore the big TOY! Below are some pix...

My many hats...

Evan -the Nurse
Last Wednesday York and I headed to Montgomery to take care of my sweet mom who had neck surgery. She was 1 week out of surgery and was doing great. Aside from the swelling, soreness, and boredom she was her ole self. Of course she hated not being able to pick up York and play but we managed. York actually performed for her hourly. York helped me make sure she wasn't doing too much and was getting enough love.
Evan -the Wife
Before we left Birmingham we made sure Daddy was packed for the weekend (wedding in Montgomery) and had plenty of food/drinks in the fridge.
Evan -the Mom
Making sure York was taken care of while tending to my 46 year old mother. Breakfast/ Lunch/ Dinner/ Bathing/ Nap times/ time outs/ snack times/ Pool time/ entertaining time/ etc... isn't quite as easy while taking care of someone who had major surgery. Luckily for me she wasn't as high maintenance as I expected... she is doing fantastic. I missed my nights when Wes comes home and takes little man to the back for story time/ prayers/ and bedtime. Those 30 minutes are amazing and much needed. WE MISSED YOU DADDY!
Evan -the Taxi
Running up and down the road for necessities for mom. (magazines/ diet drinks/ snacks/ etc)
Evan -the Comforter
At the end of the week my mother's outside dog (Sasha) was acting kind of strange so my brother and I got her to the vet. She died while he was filling out the paper work. So very sad... my poor mother was a wreck. I had to remind her that "All Dogs Go to Heaven" and Sasha was playing with other doggies. Hard week for my mom...
Evan -the Antique Dealer
While in Montgomery our booth sold so many items we were told to bring some more stuff in... wow! That is a blessing and a SHOCK!
Evan -the Sister
This role I am incredibly blessed to have... although when I come in town things always tend to go haywire. I am called in to "bat cleanup". So with a couple of pseudo crisis's averted... we managed to get through the week and weekend.
Evan -the Runner
Let me preface this by saying... If you exercise in Montgomery Heat -I give you applause! W.O.W I ran several mornings that I was home and let me tell you... There is nothing like that kind of heat. It is sticky and muggy and downright YUCK! Kudos to anyone who does this on a daily basis. 3 days was enough for me...
Evan -Human Condo
Perry update: He is moving around like a bouncing bean! I LOVE IT! He is getting bigger as am I. He weighs around 1 pound and is about the size of a Ken barbie... (Wes hates that analogy!) We have begun on his nursery... i.e. next hat
Evan -the Painter
Yes... I am helping paint Perry's nursery. We are striping the walls... and if you are planning on doing so... CALL A PROFESSIONAL! It's alot of work and me on a ladder is quite the site! (pictures to follow on next post) not of me on the ladder silly! of the room!
Evan -the Used Car Dealer
To add to this exciting week/ weekend... we decided to get me a mommy mobile. After months and months of looking for the perfect fit... we finally decided to trade with my dad. He had the perfect SUV that will serve our families needs better than my car. So after much negotiation and persuasion we came to a deal. Mommy and Babies are already loving their new SUV!! Bring on the playdates, carpools, and potlucks!!
Evan -the Photographer
My sweet cousin, Meighan, got married this past Saturday. Her budget was already stretched to the limit because she paid for most of it herself... so when I offered to take her pictures for free she was thrilled. Photographers ARE expensive. (now I know why!!) As you may have noticed I take alot of photos and absolutely love it. I made sure she understood that I was NO professional and would do my best. Below are a couple of my favorites... hope you enjoy!

Meighan was a beautiful bride and it wasn't hard to convey that on camera. Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Alan Evans!! May you have a blessed marriage and endless love!

Chuy-licous!

Check out Birmingham's newest Mexican restaurant: http://http://www.chuys.com/#/locations. I am a "self proclaimed Mexican Connoisseur". To become said connoisseur you must eat Mexican at least twice a week. I would exceed this limit if it wouldn't turn out in D-I-V-O-R-C-E! Poor Wes absolutely HATES Mexican and cringes when I suggest it weekly. Of course, I currently have "the pregnant pass" and you better believe I'm milking it! When I heard we were getting a new Mexican restaurant so close to home (i.e the Summit -beside Flip Burger) I went nuts and began counting down the days until I would see what this chain was 'coming with'. I knew that opening night would be a complete disaster so naturally I choose the night after their grand opening to persuade my friend Kelly (always up for dinner -girl after my own heart) and her family to join us. At 5:30pm Thursday we headed up to the mysterious new place. 1 hour and 15 minute wait... YES you heard correctly... at 5:30 on a week night a 1 hr. 15 min wait!!!! After corralling York and Turner by the outside fountain for the entire 75 minutes our name was called. Let me tell you... I have never tasted Mexican so delicious. Friends of ours told us to order the Chuy-changa with Boom Boom sauce and boy was I in heaven. The Queso dip was out of this world, York's chicken fingers were fantastic, and Wes actually liked his Fajitas. So I now have a new restaurant that I will be frequenting weekly. ((hope the wait dies down)) I wanted to spread the word... If you like Mexican food and you havent tried Chuy's then you haven't lived! HA! Anyone up for lunch next week?
mom update:
She came home Wednesday at noon and is doing great. Very sore but that is expected. The surgery went well and she is headed for recovery. York and I will be going down to take care of her (let Rafe/Ashton/Terry off duty) next week. Can't wait to love on my sweet momma! Thanks for the many prayers... they worked! Love you all!

Prayer Request

Below is a picture of my brother, York, and sweet mom!
Mom is having neck surgery in the morning. She has struggled with neck and back pain for as long as I can remember. I ask that you all keep her in your thoughts and prayers as her anxiety builds. Pray for her strength and courage as she walks into the hospital tomorrow and that she feels the immense love we have for her.

"God of power and might, please be with Mom during her neck surgery. Her body is Your creation, O Lord. Guide the surgeon's hand that changes it, that it might heal and function better, to your great glory. Amen"

Whats been going on...

We celebrated Ya-Ya's (Janey- Wesley's mom) birthday last week!! This was the DELICIOUS lemon cake we had for her...
We enjoyed a night of great food, family, and fellowship. Of course the entertainment for the night was the ONE and ONLY ... York Harless! (if you havent had the chance to see one of his legendary performances... he headlines 7 days a week in our living room)
Happy Birthday Ya-Ya... We hope your day was full of too much love and too many hugs! We appreciate all you do for the entire family. Life certainly wouldn't be the same without you!
Lookin' Good Ya-Ya!
York's new water toy...
I have come to the conclusion that it is becoming too hard to get York to our neighborhood pool by myself these days. After I pack all of our pool essentials (towels, sunscreen, snack, juice, swim diapers, dry clothes, and toys) get York in the stroller, walk to the pool, and chase him around the pool deck for 45 minutes... I'm pooped! So I opted for a water toy/pool that we can easily pull out at home. I found this cute contraption at Target!
York wasn't sure what to think at first!
Then he got the hang of it!
Yay!
Hours of FUN!... or maybe minutes

Stay Cool Everyone and Happy 4th of July!
