Happy Halloween...

York's outfit says "I LOVE MY MUMMY!"
(compliments of Ya-Ya)

UPDATES...

Janey (Ya-Ya) is recovering wonderfully thanks to your prayers. She is 2 weeks out of surgery and getting around great. She is most frustrated because she is still unable to pick up York. I will also say that "I MISS YA-YA THE MOST!" I took for granted that I could drop York off most anytime and go to the grocery store, doctors appointments, or run errands. (child-FREE) He is not difficult to take places but things like getting my nails done, hair cuts, or exercise is INCREDIBLY hard to do with child in tow! It is also a "mini-vacation" to be out and about alone! (all of you mommies understand that... I'm sure!) Don't get me wrong, each moment with that little guy is wonderful but an hour away makes me a much more appreciative and patient mom! So... Ya-Ya I appreciate you MORE than ever! We hope that you continue to heal and recover FAST! Love you lots!

Other NEWS... York has gotten his first pair of big boy shoes! They are brown leather Stride Rite's and are adorable. I will post pictures soon... he looks so grown up with them on! Where does the time go? He will be a giraffe for Halloween and his costume is really precious. We are headed to Montgomery tomorrow to visit with Mae-Mae and Rae-Rae. We are hoping to go to the Auburn game with our little animal on Saturday. War EAGLE! (let's hope the team that played the first couple of games will show up!) Many more pics to come!

Have a Happy Halloween!

10 months and counting

Happy 10 Months little Man!

Kisses from Cousin Caroline!
Visiting with the Watson's (Caroline and Aunt B)
Mae-Mae's so funny...
Stare down
Cheesin' for the camera!
(the 2 biggest HAMS in the world)
At sissy's house... playing with her spider!
We all have bad hair days!
Thank goodness we don't have DOUBLE trouble!

Here are some pix from this past weekend. We visited our family in Montgomery and were able to make all of the rounds! ((2 sets of great grandparents, grandmother, grandfather, step grandfather, aunt, uncle, cousins, and friends)) My dad gave York his first sucker and sips of diet dr. pepper. I was less than thrilled ... but I guess that is what grandparents are for. York was able to visit with Mae-Mae while we went to Auburn. I am still thawing out from that football game! We enjoyed our extended weekend but are glad to be home and back in the swing of things.

Race for the Cure!

This is York's crazy face... we love it!
We celebrated Mae-Mae's (my mother's) birthday this past weekend!
Mom, York, and Sissy (Ashton)I did the Race for the Cure 5K on Saturday.
(this is my post race pic)
Yes... I was #11,817 -there were a couple of runners! We were trying to get a pic of my back so you can see who I ran for...
Here is a better view...
I ran in Celebration of 2 of my grandmothers who have been cancer free for over a year now!

We had a fantastic but busy weekend! I was so honored to run for such an amazing cause.. and one that means so much to me personally! We ran a 5k (for you non-runners that is 3.1 miles) and it rained the entire race! If you are wondering what is on my head... it is a pink scarf given out by Ford (Fordcares.com) in support of their campaign Warriors in Pink! They are 'warrior bandannas' that have several symbols that represent the different reasons we choose to run. It was amazing to see thousands uniting together. It was a sea of pink!

We also celebrated my mothers BIRTHDAY on Sunday night. My sissy and mom came up on Saturday and spent the weekend with us... we had such a great time. (It reminds me of how much I miss them!) On Sunday night, we took my mom to P.F. Changs where my step dad, brother, and his girlfriend surprised mom for dinner! We had a wonderful time and Rafe (step dad) even brought my moms favorite strawberry cake from Nancy Patterson's in Montgomery to the party! *He is so thoughtful!* So Happy Birthday Mae-Mae... hope it was fabulous! Stay tuned for new pics of this coming weekends Auburn game and visit to Montgomery!

**PRAYER REQUEST -My mother in law (Janey) is going to have back surgery on Thursday. Please pray she has a successful surgery and speedy recovery! I will keep you posted.

So this is our morning in a nutshell! Of course I captured it all on film! Yes I am obsessed! Is there rehab for obsessive paparazzi mommies? Admit me... Nonetheless, each morning with this angel is an exciting adventure. He has such a great personality and is full of surprises. Until now I have wondered if he inherited any of my traits... Wonder NO more! York Harless has displayed the beginnings of the "Evan Tantrum"! Full on back arching, stiff as a board, mouth open to full capacity yelling -temper tantrums! I am sure my mother is laughing while reading this! She said I was a holy terror! (anyone reading this know that is just hard to believe! j/k) So while I have experienced 9 months of pure baby bliss.. Mom has secretly wished that York would give me a little tantrum here and there! Well the time is NOW! I hope to catch on of these award winning tantrums on tape... it is worth seeing! I didn't think that it would be possible to rival my drama but York is giving me a run for the money. Good thing he does respond to the word "No" and the drama only last for 5 or 10 seconds! York has a friend that is 12 days older than him and is displaying the same type of behavior at times...Must be the age! We are trying to introduce the idea of sharing to the boys and this has introduced the idea of tantrums to the mommies! York really doesn't have a good role model for sharing because his daddy is an only child and still doesn't really understand the concept! Good News...We are working on this as a family! Below is a picture that takes up residence on our entry table! LOVE IT! (this is a picture of a picture -not great quality)
Everyone have a great weekend and War EAGLE!

Shug Dedication... with a little York sprinkled in!

Enough Hate e-MAIL!!
I will oblige my blog stalkers and update everyone on whats been happening' with the Harlesses. We are enjoying the beautiful Fall weather and spending most afternoons on a quilt outside. York loves being outdoors but hates the grass. He really takes it all in... I love to watch his eyes roam and wonder what he is thinking. His life is so simple now.. Oh how tainted and corrupt the world around him actually is. If I could only protect him from life's disappointments, death, sickness, heart ache, and failure...If in his lifetime he would only experience joy, peace, and happiness...isn't that every parents WISH? Inevitably, York will have his heart broken (the poor girl that does that... momma bear will POUNCE!), make a bad grade or 2 (let's face it... he is Wesley's child), get in trouble for back talk (let's face it... he is MY child), morn the death of a family member/friend, not make a team, be passed up for a promotion, maybe even fired, etc. Those things will not only help mold him into the man he will become but also help him appreciate the amazing things life has to offer too... like his first kiss,"All A" honor roll (fingers crossed), inviting the Lord into his heart, his first car, game day, getting his diploma, landing his dream job, spending time with family/friends, meeting the love of his life, experiencing the birth of his children, understanding the love I have for him when he looks into the eyes of his own, etc. I will teach him that we do not walk on this earth alone.. that God carries us through the hard times and rejoices in the good... that God always provides no matter how bleak the situation seems and he never abandons us. I hope York will always choose the path that leads him closer to God. I pray each night that his heart will long for a relationship with our Lord. I want York to know his God so intimately that he goes to him whatever the situation. That he welcomes and appreciates God's work in his life. This is my prayer for him.

Other News:
He has 2 new teeth on top! I will post pics soon...
He also loves to pester Shug... Poor Poor Shug!

Shug tries to nap on mommy's bed - York pulls his tail!

Shug tries to enjoy the quilt outside - York pokes him in the eye!

Shug trys to catch rays on his favorite spot on the rug - York runs over him in the walker!

Shug tries to cuddle with mommy on the couch - York tries to suffocate him with hugs!

It is a love/hate relationship at the moment. York loves shug and Shug just wants him to go away. My sweet Shug's life was so luxurious before baby. He snoozed wherever he wanted on designer bed, went outside as much as possible, long walks with no leash, slept between mommy and daddy, drank Dasani water, ate table food, got expensive treats, blogs about our furry family member, and had Halloween costumes. Now he has to sleep at the end of the bed, only goes outside when I can get to him, short walks attached to stroller, tap water, baby food droppings, cheap treats, a blog shout out every now and then, and NO Halloween costumes. Man... he has gotten the raw end of the stick! (I will get him some bacon treats at Publix tomorrow! ..small steps) He is still my sweetheart pup and I give him good ole ear rubbin', belly scratchin', sneak a Dasani when Daddy isn't looking moments! We love you Shugy-Baby!!
