Hangin' in there...

York has been enjoying the Fall weather on his swing!Mae-Mae LOVE!
These pix capture York's animated little personality...
He was "calling" Da-Da and was talking up a storm!!
Happy Halloween!!
Still haven't forgotten about our mower!

As you can see... York hasn't skipped a beat with all of the hoopla going on around here. My mom has been here since Tuesday to take care of my sweet boy and he is loving it! He doesn't even notice ME when she is around. They are playing 24/7 and he is wearing her slap out! Mom is watching him all day, checking on me (making me STAY in bed), and cooking dinner for us at night. She is our maid, chef, nanny, etc and is absolutely amazing at each one! I can not thank her enough for her hours spent away from home/hubby/work. She is a precious gift that I am so lucky to have. Mom... you are one in a million and each minute we spend with you and memory made will be cherished forever. Thanks for putting your life on hold to help take care of ours!

UPDATE on "P"...

We made one more trip to Labor and Delivery on Wednesday night because I was having some other issues on top of the non stop contractions. I called my doc and she said to immediately return to L&D. So mom put the Chili on hold and packed us up to meet Wes at the hospital. We were put on a monitor that showed my contractions were not letting up with the medication so they decided to admit me for the night. After 15 hours of observation and 4 Brethine shots later we were discharged with another prescription and restless hearts. Because my contractions are "breaking" through the medication they are worried that at any moment I will dilate. Fortunately.. that is not the case so far. It is a very delicate situation and the only way to be sure is to go and get checked (FUN!). We are trying to prevent a repeat of a stressful labor and NICU stay. I'm 35 weeks 3 days which is a full week past York's date and that gives us wonderful peace. We know he is over 5 pounds and doing wonderfully but our goal is to keep him hanging on for another week at least. THE PLAN: Continue the meds/bed rest, see Doc on Tuesday for last shot! The shot is designed to stay in your system for 7 days so it will get us to Nov. 9... 37 weeks! At that point we will not try and stop Mr. Perry from joining our family! I am taking each day at a time... knowing that every minute assures us a healthier little man! God is so GOOD! Love you all and appreciate all of your thoughts and prayers this far... they are the only thing getting us through!

Perry Update...

This past Friday I began to experience some back pain/ labor. I watched the AMAZING Auburn game in bed on Saturday and attempted Church on Sunday. After the first 40 minutes I was unable to finish the service. Wes and I went home and shortly after I began having irregular abdominal contractions along with the back pain. It was exactly like last time ... de ja vu! We decided to wait for the terrible storm to let up before driving to the hospital and waking York up. At 4AM the thunder and lighting got the best of Mr. York and he joined us in our bed (where we were counting contraction -length and frequency). We decided to head on to Labor and Delivery because Wes would be able to help me with York and if I waited until he went to work then I would have to take York by myself. (possibility of getting admitted with a 22 month old... not a good idea!) We arrived at the hospital and I was immediately put on the monitors and checked. Although my contractions were occurring somewhat regularly I was not dilated or thinning!! Music to my ears...as the sweet nurses plugged me up and brought me ice chips York began "working" the hallways! He was running up and down (Wes chasing him) telling all of the new mommies and babies about his tractor pajamas. **Remember: It is 5AM and I'm sure these families don't want to be awaken by my son yelling "Trat-tor"! But then I guess it is good practice for what they are "in" for!!** I was given my first shot of Brethine (drug to help relax uterine walls- i.e STOP contractions) ... I received shots of this with York and I forgot how awful it makes you feel! It makes you shake, jittery, and unable to catch your breath. Luckily, it basically flat lined the contractions!! Dr. H didn't want to admit me because I wasn't dilated.. but assured me if I begin to feel anything else or need piece of mind just to come right back! She said that things can change at any moment but with the combination of my weekly progesterone shots, Brethine pills, and BED REST we hope to keep him "cookin" for at least another week or two! Yes you heard it... the dreaded BED REST! I have been "in bed" for approximately 5 hours and I'm going C-R-A-Z-Y. I am not a napping, bed riding, or sit still kind-of-gal! I need to be doing something. So I have begun finalizing York's party details (cake/invites) and some ordering Christmas gifts online. If you guys need anything that I can do from the comfort of my own bed... Just let me know!!
Prayers Please! I will keep everyone posted.. I feel good and hope Perry does too!
Much love, Ev
PS. The coundown ticker on the right side of the blog is not my actual gestion in weeks... it is the countdown until my induction day (Nov.23)... Which puts me at 39 weeks. So technically I'll be 35 completed weeks on Wednesday. FYI... that is why we are trying to keep him put for just awhile longer. Just wanted to clarify!!!

Harless is My Name... Nesting is My GAME!

nesting:
Obstetrics Frenetic house cleaning by a ♀ in late pregnancy, which is more common with the first-born child, fancifully likened to birds building a nest and preparing to lay and incubate chicks
nesting:
(Psychology) the tendency to arrange one's immediate surroundings, such as a work station, to create a place where one feels secure, comfortable, or in control

So the above definitions sum up what is going on at the Harless Household... WOW! I don't think I was able to experience full fledged"nesting" with York because he came so early. I am definitely making up for it with Perry! I am driving York and Wes crazy and probably most of my friends... so sorry guys!
I'm happy to report that we have surpassed a baby milestone... I have been dreading this day since the moment we found out we were pregnant. Yesterday was the day (gestationally) that we began Labor with York and a day that I have prayed we could just "skip" during this pregnancy. Luckily I feel great and am having no signs of labor so far... Hallelujah! The weekly shots have been a constant reminder that our family may be headed for another emotional roller coaster that is "life" with a preemie... Prayers and a wonderful family support system have kept my spirits high and mind busy with thoughts of how blessed we truly are. I know that God has picked the perfect day for Perry to arrive and all of my worries about bringing home a healthy baby are not worth entertaining!! I go to the doctor tomorrow to make sure we are still sailing towards the delivery of a CHUNKY little man!
Back to nesting... I'm am completely out of control! Below are some pictures of recent "Harless Happenings" BEWARE: it is a long post!
Let's begin with current obsessions:
York has a new obsession with the play lawn mower. We have to go everywhere with it and if you take it away you would think someone is cutting off his leg... seriously! Getting ridiculous! Here are some pictures of York and his new "friend".

York and Daddy's shared OBSESSION! The golf cart... we recently bought a golf cart for riding around the neighborhood, Auburn games, and beach time! To say the "boys" have enjoyed their first couple of weeks with their new toy is a total understatement. They are IN LOVE! This is York in is jersey after our WIN over Arkansas last week... War CAM Eagle!
Daddy's second OBSESSION: deer feeders! We have put out 2 in the last couple of weeks and I feel like we have another child with what it costs to keep these feeders full of corn.. Below is a picture from my phone this morning (9am) our first doe was partaking in our corn buffet! York is loving our nightly golf cart rides to "look" at deer. He points his mini light to the right and left and says DEERS, DEERS, DEERS! It is pretty cute... so it makes this obsession A O.K with me!
Feeder #1 behind our house on the hill...
Feeder #2 across the street from our house... so long to all of my plants!
Momma's obsession that goes right along with NESTING... bird houses! I have found so many cute ones lately and I am displaying them on our back porch! Also notice the slate work that Wesley did on our porch... so beautiful and COMPLETE! (mommy likes!) Thanks BABE!
Mommy's other obsession... these amazing milk chocolate "eye balls" filled with peanut butter, caramel, or fudge. Completely sinful... YUM! I bought these little boogers for our trick-or-treaters but I doubt they will make it to the 31st! Yes those are DOTS and tootsie rolls in the bowl as well. My thinking was to put out the "reject" candy in hopes that I wouldn't be tempted but one little look from these sweet treats and I was hooked. Sorry eye balls for every placing you in "reject" candy territory... never again! And my son is a sucker for the DOTS... he can almost reach the bowl to grab a box! Wesley opts for the traditional tootsie every once in a while... IN SUMMARY: this bowl stands NO chance!
This is a picture of two little boys playing on the beach... I thought it would be perfect in our Kitchen! I finally got around to hanging it this weekend (thx nesting) and I absolutely love it! I cant wait to spend time on the sandy white beaches with all of my boys... cant wait to make those memories!NESTING hits a NEW LEVEL

Thanks so much for your visit... I have managed to finish everything for Perry and juggle daily playtime with York, supper for Wes, and time for friends. You are like a drug... wish I could bottle you up and SELL you! Along with your help I have planned York's 2nd birthday (cake/invitations/napkins/decor/inflatable/etc), set up newborn photographer, baby announcement/ Christmas cards, and begun Christmas Shopping! You are just what the doctor ordered! Your presence in my life at this time is much appreciated! If you don't last much longer... It was a good run!

Holiday Baby...

Perry and I had our weekly doctor's appointment today and things look GREAT! We went ahead and scheduled INDUCTION day... WOW! Partly because I am a control freak and also for the sake of planning for Turkey Day! We choose November 23 the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. I really wanted the 22nd because that is my sweet Daddy's bday and Mr. Perry's namesake... but our insurance wouldn't let this guy budge a day before 39 weeks! So we will settle for the 23rd and plan to take Turkey and Dressing to the hospital!! Dr. H doesn't think we will make it to Induction Day but I guess we will see... I would be thrilled if he decided to make his debut sometime around the 9th... only because he will be 37 weeks gestation and good and FAT and ready to be loved on and brought home immediately! So much for planning... 3 more shots to go and it will be up to Perry and me to keep him "cookin". Below is a picture from York-man this morning at the doctor... he was such a great sport considering we were in the waiting room for an hour and a half!! He is all smiles all the time... I just love this little guy! (notice our chair-o-toys) York and Mom's new obsession... my double stroller! York will no longer acknowledge the B.O.B. He climbs up in the new stroller and points to the other seat and says "Down" ... wanting me to sit beside him! Hilarious! We took him and "imaginary friend" on a walk for the first time last night... It drives like a dream!!
Just a swingin...

If your wondering if the play set is complete... It's NOT! That's okay because the swing -swings and the slide- slides! We are in business... happy Tuesday everyone!

Also a little shout out to my MOMMA (aka Mae Mae) Happy Happy Birthday!!... enjoy your relaxing beach get away and come visit soon! We love you!

Peter Peter ... Pumpkin Eater!

York and I joined some friends this morning to pick out some pumpkins! After 1 "run away" pumpkin, several falls -resulting in dirty clothes, and sword fights with mini scarecrows... we headed to the park. It was a beautiful morning full of fun... Enjoy our pix!

Happy FALL! Enjoying these last couple of weeks just me and my little man!
